What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial Massage is a therapeutic approach designed to promote and revive physical well-being. Undoubtedly, this method proves beneficial in addressing various bodily issues. Instances of such concerns encompass muscle tension, discomfort in the joints, musculoskeletal imbalances, and similar conditions.

The Benefits of Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage goes beyond the realm of relaxation and offers targeted repair for specific areas of the body, accelerating its natural healing processes. Throughout each massage session, you will undergo a series of ranges of motion (ROM) assessments before and after treatment to evaluate your body’s condition. During these assessments, you may experience pain or stretches in certain areas, which you can communicate to Giovanni, our therapist. By pinpointing the source of discomfort, Giovanni can identify the muscles or muscle groups involved, aiding in the understanding of the root cause. The pressure applied during this therapeutic treatment can range from strong and deep to gentle, depending on the issue at hand. Remember, muscle problems can trigger or radiate pain to other regions of the body.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue work aims to heal the body from an injury and improve musculoskeletal balance. As already mentioned, this technique reduces body aches and pain aiming to remove the issue at the root cause. Along with its benefits, we find: • increases mobility • reduced stress • help the recovery of soft tissue injuries • improve/correct postural issues • reduce muscle tension • reduced chronic pain symptoms • help with sleep • balance blood pressure • speed up from recovery from a sports injury and performance.

Remedial Massage Techniques

Various techniques are employed during a Remedial Massage session. The client will lie either face-down or face-up on a table and will undress to undergarments, with coverings and towels placed throughout the entire session. During the massage, cream or oil may be used to minimise friction when working directly on the skin. It is important to inform your therapist before the session if you have any allergies to nuts or other products, as the cream or oil used may contain nut oil.
